Karlsen Karlsen is a small watch brand started by two brothers in 2018. Their only model “The Presence” has been designed, engineered, and developed by the two brothers themselves.
Karlsen Karlsen came to be in 2018 when the search for the "perfect" dress watch came up short: a 37 mm ultra-thin case, with a clean modern look, but with a hint of depth and elegance.
The two brothers, one with a degree in design and the other in mechanical engineering was the perfect combination to bring their passion project to life.
All the engineering and development have been carried out by the two brothers, despite none of them having any experience in the watch industry prior. Everything from idea, design, 3D modeling, engineering, early stages of prototyping, to brand development and identity (even designing this website and writing this text) have been done by the two brothers.
A few years, countless afternoons and nights have gone by since December 2018. So far that has resulted in two fully functional prototypes – one for each brother.

Henrik, born and raised in Oslo, Norway, has a bachelor in graphic design and a masters degree in visual identity and branding. Henrik co-founded Karlsen Karlsen together with his brother Ole S. Karlsen in January 2018. A passion for watchmaking and design led Henrik to co-create Karlsen Karlsen’s first timepiece. Henrik believes that every timepiece should fulfill a purpose, and stay true to that purpose in every aspect of its functionality and design aesthetics. But most important a great timepiece should create an emotional connection
Ole, born and raised in Oslo, Norway, has a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. Ole co-founded Karlsen Karlsen together with his brother Henrik S. Karlsen in January 2018. A passion for engineering design and bringing ideas to life led Ole to co-create Karlsen Karlsen’s first timepiece.
